About the job role

This is a full-time position for a current Business Services Manager.

As Business Services Manager, you will play a leading and influential role.   • Deliver tasks within the promises made to clients and within timeframes set by clients, giving feedback if goals look unachievable

About the Role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Accountant to join the Business Services team.

The successful candidate would be degree qualified in commerce or accounting, have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience gained in a public practice environment and have recently completed CA/CPA qualifications.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a talented, committed, and high performing team and give you access to interesting, hands-on work and both established and emerging clients. You will be encouraged to be the best that you can be and afforded opportunities to continuously develop yourself through on the job learning or specific training tailored to your needs.

Responsibilities include
  • Be a contact point for clients across a broad range of industries, ensuring jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines, within budget.
  • Use your strong technical skills including working knowledge of income tax, company tax, CGT, FBT, trusts, Division 7A, management accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing business advice and/or producing complex special purpose reports, annual financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses.
  • Hands on assistance with Cloud packages including MYOB, Xero and QBO, setting up ledgers, assisting with add-ons, and general trouble shooting to ensure that data is clean and meaningful.
  • Complete and supervise an engagement involving multiple entities and various structures from beginning to end.

  • Ownership qualities and the ability to successfully manage workflow and junior accountants.

Duties include:
  • Undertaking external audits and reviews of financial statements
  • Preparing statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Preparing reports for management and those charged with governance including on the existence and effectiveness of the internal controls of clients
  • Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
  • Undertaking risk assessment procedures, planning audit responses, and implementing audit procedures
  • Interpret relevant legislation and accounting principles and apply them to auditing procedures
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and explain recommendations and regulations to clients in order to reduce risk
  • Verbal and written reporting on audit findings and process improvement opportunities
  • Traveling to various clients to examine their financial records and systems
